What I Did In New Zealand
We left for New Zealand on Monday November 7, and got there on Wednesday morning. What we did there:
Wednesday- We saw the house, and we also saw the three chickens and the lamb that live on the farm there. Then we walked down the farm road and saw cows.
Thursday- I bottle-fed Chicken Little, the lamb. I took a ATV up a mountain. Then my mom and I went to a ballet class.
Friday- We went to the market to see my friends dance and play drums.
Saturday- We picked up the new baby lamb,…Wolfie. Then we went to Lyttleton to do some shopping a the market.
Sunday-We went to the coast, to the Hilltop restaurant, (saw Ninja the pig) the bird sanctuary, and the soap store. Then we left on Monday. Here is a slideshow of my trip:

Dear Maura,
Congratulations on your new blog!
My name is Mrs Morris and I am 2KM’s teacher in Australia.
I enjoyed reading about your trip. It was interested to hear about how Emily lives. You saw some lovely scenery. I have been to New Zealand once but I only went to the North Island. It was a lovely place to visit.
Do many people from the USA visit New Zealand? It is far away but not as far for you as Australia.
How did you like the New Zealand accents?
Your blogging buddy,
Mrs M☀rris
PS – I am glad you got to bring back some Vegemite for your classmates to try!

Hi Maura,
I should introduce myself. My name is Charlotte and I have my own blog and if you click on my name ‘Charlotte’ you can visit my blog and leave a comment.
I loved your post about your trip to New Zealand. It looks like you had a great time! What was your number one highlight of your holiday?
We could become blogging buddies and I could do a blog post about my new bloging buddy.
See you,
Charlotte
Dear Maura
How wonderful that you have earned your own blog! I’m thrilled to see that your first post is about my country, New Zealand.
What a shame you weren’t able to come over to the West Coast to see us. Never mind.
You had a very busy time while you were here. We don’t have a farmers market where I live, but when I’m away I like to visit one if I can.
We do eat lots of bananas in NZ, but you wouldn’t find them at a farmers market, just at the supermarkets.
I have visited America, but never to the east coast. Hopefully I will get there one day!

Dear Maura,
I really enjoyed your post. I almost felt like I was along on the vacation with your family!
Your slideshow was wonderful. I don’t think I pick pick just one favourite slide. I love the pictures of the view from the top of Mt. Herbert, the beach at Okain’s Bay, and from the restaurant. I also love the pictures you took of the animals. I have to say too, that your dessert made my mouth water. I am also a chocolate lover!
Did you visit any other countries on your vacation? What was your favourite part of your trip?
I hope that one day I can visit New Zealand. I would love to drop in and say hello to Mrs. McKenzie and B4.
Looking forward to your next post,
Mrs. Watson

Dear Maura,
I love the new post about your trip to New Zealand! It was great to see the pictures from your adventures. I think my favorite slide was the one with Ninja the pig. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pig with that much hair before. I usually think of pigs as being pink and pretty much bald, but Ninja had an impressive coat of brown fur! (I also thought the slide of Chicken Little was very cute!)
I liked how you talked about the farmer’s market and buying local. I think it is important to think about where our food comes from, and to try to support local businesses.
I would love to visit New Zealand! My sister spent a few weeks there when she was going to college in Australia and she loved it. I would like to go hiking in the beautiful hills and mountains, and hopefully see some of the amazing animals and birds that live there.
Were there any kiwis or keas at the bird sanctuary?
Your teacher,
Mr. Salsich
I’m so glad to see your presentation on the blog! Now we have to figure out how to post the videos of you feeding Chicken Little, Emily dancing, Doug drumming and more!
We really did have an amazing time in New Zealand. Did you tell your class how Emily would like you to return for a much longer visit and help her around the farm?
I just realized that we did not include any pictures of the chickens, or the chooks as Emily calls them. Maybe we can post the video of us helping round up the chooks after they escaped from the yard (that is, after we figure out how to post video!)
Best Regards,
Mom
Dear Maura,
Your slide show was great!
My favorite slide is when you were wearing the big coat. It looked like you were going to fall down because it was so heavy.
Here is a question,
Did you have fun in New Zealand?
I wish I could go there!
Your friend,
Shea
Dear Maura,
I love your Blog. I go on it like every day!
My favorite part from the slideshow was when you got to bottle feed Chicken little! I have a question, did you like having to share a room with your brother?
I hope you have a great day!
With love from,
Sophia
You did a wonderful job on your slide show. New Zealand is beautiful. I especially like the photo looking down from the mountain. Everything looks so green. Of course, the little lamb is darling!
Miss you,
Grandma
